Source: https://justvend.in/web/upi-vending-machine.html --- # UPI vending machines: how cashless vending works in India JustVend Team · 2 November 2026 · 6 min read ![The JustVend app showing products and categories](https://justvend.in/web/assets/img/app.webp) A UPI vending machine lets you buy a snack or drink by scanning a QR code or using an app, paying with any UPI app, and collecting your product a few seconds later. No coins, no notes, no change. ## How a UPI vending purchase works 1. **Choose your product** on the machine’s touch screen or in the app. 2. **Scan the QR code** or confirm in the app. 3. **Pay with UPI** (or a wallet or card) from your phone. 4. **The machine receives confirmation** over its internet connection. 5. **Your product is dispensed** instantly. At JustVend we call this tap, pay, grab. ## Why cashless works so much better - **Reliability.** Coin and note acceptors jam and reject money. QR payments don’t. - **Speed.** No fumbling for exact change. - **Hygiene.** No handling of cash. - **Security.** No cash box to empty or protect. - **Data.** Every sale is recorded instantly, which feeds real-time inventory and demand forecasting. ## UPI, wallets, cards and the app UPI is the most used option in India, but a good machine supports all common methods. JustVend machines support UPI, wallets, QR codes and cards, and the JustVend app adds QR scanning for instant access, purchase history and real-time inventory, so you can check a machine has what you want before you walk over. ## What if a payment goes through but nothing drops? With any vending machine, it is worth knowing how the operator handles this. Because a smart machine records every transaction and its own status, problems can be identified and resolved. If it happens with a JustVend machine, contact our support team at +91 95699 92107 (Mon–Sat, 10 AM–6 PM IST) or info@justvend.in. ## For businesses: why cashless vending is easier to host If you are hosting a machine at your [office](https://justvend.in/web/office-vending-machine.html), [campus](https://justvend.in/web/college-vending-machines.html) or [community](https://justvend.in/web/vending-machine-for-apartments.html), cashless means nobody on your side handles money, and every sale is visible in real time. It is also what makes [smart vending](https://justvend.in/web/smart-vending-machine.html) possible: the same payment data tells the operator what to restock and when. ## Want a smart vending machine for your space?
